On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Osijek Tourist Board is organizing a free thematic guided tour entitled “A Tale of Essekerke”, which will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

The tour begins at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Square in Tvrđa, where participants will be greeted by guide Svjetlana Rožić Nađ. The route leads from Tvrđa towards the city center, following the paths once used by the famous Osijek citizens – the Essekerka.

During the walk, participants will have the opportunity to hear the stories of some of them, such as Paulina Hermann, Adela Deszaty and Jagoda Truhelka, but also learn more about women whose stories are still waiting to be discovered.

All interested parties are invited to join the walk and learn the interesting stories of the Osijek Essekerki.
