As part of the New Croatian Jazz Concert Series program, the Reel Problems quintet will perform at the Kino Urania cinema on Saturday, March 14. The concert starts at 9 p.m., and the audience will have the opportunity to hear one of the most interesting bands on the contemporary Croatian jazz scene. <\/p>\n\n
When the band emerged about ten years ago, it was clear that they were bringing something new and different \u2013 \u200b\u200ba high-level musical expression that stood out on the domestic scene. This was already pointed out back then by a great jazz fan and connoisseur Sa\u0161a Drach. Over the years, their music became increasingly complex and unusual, but at the same time more attractive to the audience, while the concerts remained unpredictable, spontaneous and extremely entertaining. <\/p>\n\n
The band’s first and so far only album, A Bag of Problems, is actually a recording of a concert held on April 1, 2018, at the Kulturni centar Mesni\u010dka (KCM) club in Zagreb. The album was released by Pass the Hat Records in 2019. <\/p>\n\n
The band was founded by Zagreb drummer Kruno Leva\u010di\u0107, and alongside him in the band are Ivar Roban Kri\u017ei\u0107 on double bass, Luka \u017du\u017ei\u0107 on trombone, and Mario Bo\u010di\u0107 on tenor saxophone. In the newer line-up, they have been joined by Nikola Vukovi\u0107, who plays trumpet and pocket trumpet. <\/p>\n\n
